Relief Society Conference

  • I went to our stake relief society conference, It was really good!
These are a few tips that I recieved while listening:
  • Be the first to laugh
  • Take life seriously, but dont take yourself that serious
  • We all are going to make mistakes
  • When you can laugh at anything, it will change your life

Challenge: Take out 5-10 minutes of your day and just laugh!

  • Find happiness in ordinary things

Challenge: Make a list of 25 things that make you happy!

  • Keep your sense of humor. "Who ever smiles first wins!"
  • "There is no way to be a Perfece (wife, mother, daughter) but many to be a good one."
  • Fear keeps us away from things that matter most

Marriage

Make God your partner

Overlook faults in companion compliment the strengths

  1. Live the gospel to the best of your ability; dont make excuses
  2. Recieve one another as husband and wife, as you are two imperfect people

How to deal with faults

  1. Point out improfections (nah)
  2. Saviors way, Overlook
  3. Requires; Are you making spouses happiness your happiness

Preventing Emotional Burn-out

  • Feel and express a full range of motions
  • Expand your vocabulary; Not just sad, happy, alright
  • Emotions are information they are not good or bad
  • Acknowledge that your mad
  • I feel ____ when you ____ because I think _____.
  • Give yourself permission to say No
  • You owe no explanation
  • Practice being kind to yourself

Food Storage

  • 1 wk groceries
  • 3 day emergency water (rotate every 6 months)
  • car gas (keep tank half full at all times)
  • enough cash to get you home (closest relative)
  • cell phone ICE #'s
  • designate an out of state person to call and let know where you are.
  • keep spouse know where you are at all times
  • emergency resources; radio
  • clean air
  • have idea of school and community evacuation plans
  • sturdy shoes by bedside
  • hand radio
