February 21, 2010- First Doctors Appointment

I sign papers alot lately with my birthdate so I started dating the paper and when I write February 21 im usually writing 1989! From today 1989 was exactly 21 years ago for me! Today was my 21st Birthday. This week has been a pretty eventful week! Darrell came home Monday from his Dad's Funeral and let me tell ya how greatful I am that he is home! He got in at 7:30 in the morning and we slept until 1:30 in the afternoon. Its funny because I had already slept all night, but he had not.

Darrell had no school on monday so we were lazy most of the day and just vegged, AKA, we are couch potatos! Not much happened the rest of the week. Boy, it was a long week though. Darrell spent late nights at school studying he had three tests, thurs, fri, and saturday.

Friday at 2:30 I had my first offical doctors appointment. Darrell came with me and we got in really fast. They did a bunch of labs and stuff but the most important part was hearing the babies heartbeat! It took her awhile to find it at first, all we heard was my heartbeat once she found the baby heartbeat it was super loud and really fast. Darrell smiled really big when we first heard it! Its crazy how much more realistic it seemed after that. I'm Sure it will be even better when the baby starts really growing and I can feel it actually move! I got a baked potato from Wendy's on the way home and now im addicted to them!

This is my bruise from getting my blood drawn! Two weeks later

Esther Skousen

Darrells brother Troy and his wife Jenn went to the hospital the night before the funeral for Darrells Dad. To our surprise Saturday morning we had a new addition to the family. Esther Ann Skousen! She was about a month early, a premie but healthy as can be! She and Jenn went home a few days later.

In Rememberance of Dan Skousen

Tuesday February 3nd we got a call that Darrells Dad had passed away. He had been struggling wit h skin cancer they never could determine the exact kind. It has been a little over a year since they first found out he had cancer. Its a sad thing, but at the same time we all feel grateful that he isnt suffering anymore. Darrell went down to the funeral he left Thursday the 11th they had a viewing on friday and the funeral on Saturday.

Primary "I Know the Savior Loves Me"

We sang "I Know the Savior Loves Me" for the whole month of January. We did actions to all the sentences. It was really fun. They did great! Its a hard song for 3 year olds to learn but we got it alright.

I'm Pregnant!

Okay so let me catch you up on everything that has been happening. This is me thinking on January 8, 2010.

This week was a chill week for us because Darrell is just starting school so no real homework quite yet. Thursday we went shopping we needed grocerys badly. We rented "Cloudy with the Chance of Meatballs," from red box. I thought it was pretty cute, there were parts that were kinda dumb and could have been left out but its movies these days.

Friday night we went and played raquetball (which I think was the last time we played "sad") it was fun, but we only played one game and someone told us they had the court reserved. We then went to Wendys for dinner Chicken Nuggets! and a Frosty! We love wendys nuggets but I think the main reason will be because we love their honey mustard! We borrowed the movie "Twister" from the Huntsmans so we decided to watch it once we got home. we decided we are spending too much time in the movie department we should probably do a few other things too.

Saturday we made breakfast we are trying to eat a little healthier so we bought oranges which we ate with our breakfast. Darrell then went to school to go to work. I stayed home and applied to more jobs. I also tried to understand our health insurance, I swear they make those things complicated for a reason, it stinks because our insurance really only covers major medical things so doesnt help all that much.

Saturday while Darrell was away I finally got up the courage to take a pregnancy test! Yes, all week I have been thinking that things just werent right. so I took it (it was the one my mom gave me for my bridal shower as a joke, so like the $1 one) It was POSITIVE! I couldnt really believe it I still want to get another test to make sure. For fun to tell Darrell I made this powerpoint with pictures of us and cheesy qotes. On the last page I put a picture of the test and wrote, "positive proof that in exactly 9 months you will be the best daddy ever... just wait you'll see!" he kinda just starred at the screen and then said really? with a big grin on his face! Now on everything I do he says, "Your doing it for two now!" lol It was'nt really expected, but its not the worst time either.
